RealVNC is a remote control software, this free version is compatible with Windows 95/98/Me, NT 4, 2000, XP, 2003. Unfortunately it doesn't work in Windows Vista.
This free version also works for UNIX (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX).
RealVNC is one of my favorites tools for remote administration. RealVNC allows more control than other remote control software like Remote Desktop.
This tool is a good option for developers that need to test in several environments.
RealVNC has an agent that allows reboot the Server or the PC and access again the computer without any trouble.
RealVNC has an Authentication option to set a password to access the computer. The encryption option is only for the Enterprise Edition.
RealVNC can work trough any network and you can configure the access port and deny or allow the connections from a list of computers, these features enhance its security.
RealVNC accept inputs from the clients, you can copy information from the your desktop's clipboard to the computer that you're controlling and vice versa.

- if you reset the Server or the PC and there is an application that needs a user response (like notepad waiting for the user response to save the current file) the RealVNC agent stopped but the server didn't reset and the remote control never returns.
